Screw terminal type 107

Today, pluggable screw terminals are used in a wide variety of applications. Due to the maximum flexibility of the screw terminal type 107 from METZ CONNECT, a wide range of applications can be realized.

The PCB terminal type 107 (RP025xxHBWC) from METZ CONNECT is a pluggable screw terminal with a pitch of 5 mm. With regard to the plug-in direction, the user can choose whether a plug-in connection from above or below is more suitable for the application.

Simplified connection and disconnection with pluggable terminal technology

Pluggable screw terminals generally offer more flexibility than solderable connections. This becomes apparent in applications where, for example, a terminal device needs to be serviced. In the case of maintenance, it is usually necessary to ensure that the end device is free of voltage and current. The pluggable terminal technology facilitates this, as the PCB terminal can be removed in its entirety and not each connection line has to be disconnected individually. This can also simplify the commissioning of devices after maintenance and also make it safer. By plugging the terminal onto the pin strip provided for this purpose, it is impossible to mix up the connection leads and the board is thus protected against damage, e.g. due to an incorrectly connected power supply. With soldered terminals, the conductors must always be connected and disconnected individually, which is much more time-consuming.

Maximum flexibility through compact design and contacting

In addition to the connection type, however, the Type 107 also impresses time and again with its compact design. With an overall height of 12.8 mm, the screw terminal is predestined for surface-mounted applications such as those found in the smart home sector (control panels, wall thermostats, etc.).

The contact between the terminal block and the pin strip offers even more flexibility, as a tulip contact is used here. This enables the contacting of a pin strip with round as well as square pins.

To ensure international use of the connection technology, it has been approved by both SEV and UL. This provides broad market access and makes it easier for customers to obtain approval for their terminal equipment.

These examples show that the Type 107 pluggable screw terminal block can be used for a very wide range of product design applications.
