Data connections in meter cabinets – Plug + Play from METZ CONNECT
The application rule VDE-AR-N 4100: 2019-04 came into effect on April 1, 2019 and prepares the meter cabinet for future requirements of the energy transition.
Communication interface – this is where METZ CONNECT comes into play – new as plug + play connection
(APZ) Closing point meter position
A space for APZ according to DIN VDE 0603-1 must be provided in the meter cabinet. It serves as an interface between the house transfer point for communication technology and the meter station. The APZ must be at least 300 mm high and have its own sealable contact protection cover. Furthermore, a voltage supply from the NAR must be placed in the APZ. The application rule specifies both the communication field and the distribution field in the meter cabinet as possible installation locations for the APZ. Placing the APZ outside the meter cabinet is not permitted.
METZ CONNECT offers with one and two port "APZ" junction boxes products which you can place in the APZ. New in the portfolio is a one and two port "APZ" junction box with feedthrough couplings. Please note the following two points:
-
Only patch cables without grommets or very short grommets can be used in the rear connection area – e.g. 13084Vxxyy-E
-
use the prescribed insulating sleeves. More detailed descriptions can be found in the user rule and the standards listed therein.
