SMT – solderable spring contacts (ASM0x)
Task
The majority of circuit board designs today still feature a mix of surface mount and/or through hole components. Not all components that are placed on a PCB can be fed through the reflow oven. Therefore, additional soldering processes are often necessary afterwards in order to arrange these components on the circuit board.
Solution
ASM01 and ASM02 offer a surface mount solution on Tape & Reel that enables through-hole components to be mounted on a circuit board directly after a reflow process.
Areas of application
- e.g. fire alarms
Advantages
- saving of space through the use of through holes on both sides of the circuit board
- automatic assembly of the printed circuit board, PCB, circuit board
- temperature-sensitive components can be plugged onto the spring contacts after the reflow soldering process
- higher production capacity utilization, as manual hand soldering can be omitted
- high-quality, low-resistance contact between component and contact; costly post-processing of the circuit board is therefore no longer necessary.
- customer-specific adjustments possible
